The training was officially opened by the Head of Baslitbang SDM Kominfo, Hary Budiarto. By means of digital technology, business actors can increase access to new customers, increase sales and income, open new access to foreign markets, and facilitate transactions with customers and suppliers. Economic digital transformation is needed to encourage the emergence of an entrepreneurial environment, place more prominent roles in new methods based on Internet platforms, and demonstrate increasingly high market opportunities for prospective entrepreneurs.

He also stated that, based on BPS E-Commerce Statistics for 2021, only 25.92% of businesses carried out e-commerce activities. This shows that businesses in Indonesia are still dominated by conventional types. 50.71% of businesses immediately carried out e-commerce activities when they debuted, and 22.04% started e-commerce activities more than 5 years after their debut. Only 23.45% of businesses have financial reports, while most e-commerce businesses in 2020 did not have financial reports (76.55%). 21,64% of businesses sell their products at the marketplace. The majority (78.36%) make online sales through non-marketplace media, such as social media, instant messaging, e-mail, etc.
